In today’s world students are faced with multiple stresses with exams being one of the main sources of stress for many. Teachers and schools have an important role in helping students manage this stress.
As per DES circular 0059/2021, a school’s commitment to wellbeing will “increasingly have a positive impact on the wellbeing of the students.”
Neither can be a replacement for the support of parents or guardians, however.
This free information webinar for parents will focus on helping parents identify signs that their child may be struggling to manage exam stress.
It will also give parents ideas and strategies that they can use to help their child. Parents and/or guardians are given the opportunity to learn how to support their child and to make a huge difference to students' wellbeing.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this session parents/carers will be able to:
- Identify the main stressors their child may be facing
- Identify signs that their child may be stressed
- Help their child manage stress using a variety of approaches/strategies e.g. encouraging physical activity during exam time, helping their child achieve balance between study and rest, ensuring adequate sleep, strategies to help relax or calm worry before exams etc.
