Awards Ceremony

On Thursday, the 16th of May, Edmund Rice College held their annual awardsceremony, to show recognition for the most deserving pupils. Every student got themselves involved in one way or another, with numerous performing magnificent songs in the choir, various performing reflections and prayers, and others showing their talents withmusical instruments, such as the ukulele or tin whistle.

The appointed night was a splendid occasion, with awards being given to students for every subject, including extra curricular and generosity. The two main awards, however, were the Spirit of Edmund Rice Award, and Student of the Year. As everyone waited tensely on the edges of their seats, the names were called, and Aoibheann O’Connor was awarded the Spirit of Edmund Rice Award, while Aoife Foran won Student of the year. As the two winners stood to receive their awards, the audience, both teachers and students, broke into a monotonous applause for the pupils who had made Edmund Rice proud.

Following the beautiful event, parents and students were offered ample refreshments, such as tea, coffee, and other pastries and delicacies. The whole night was a complete success, full of pride, contentment and sentiment, which really demonstrated the beautiful atmosphere in Edmund Rice College.
