On Monday we celebrated the end of our first ever year at Edmund Rice College with an awards ceremony. Thank you to all parents who attended and showed their support for our exemplary students and being an integral part of our school community. Thank you to the chairperson of the board of management Ferdia Kelly and Eddie Burke from the Edmund Rice Schools Trust for attending the ceremony. It was a wonderful way to recognise the excellent achievements of our students.
A particular congratulations to the winners of our most prestigious awards Chloe Murphy (The Spirit of Edmund Rice Award), Aoife Mc Dowell (Student of the year) and Conan Feeney (contribution to extra-curricular). All students received a certificate of completion for successfully completing 1st year at Edmund Rice College. Awards were presented for outstanding attendance and were given to 5 students. (Harold Oziegbe, Klaus Kind, Conan Feeney, Joao Pedro Camacho Dos Santos and Yossef Taha). Three awards were presented for the three highest achievement points totals for the academic year. The winners were Conan Feeney (The Gold Award), Michael Moran (The Silver Award) and Aoife Mc Dowell (The Bronze Award).
In English class students took part in a Sonnet competition. The winner was Anna O’Neill for her excellent entry. Mr. Kennedy presented badges to the Green Schools Committee and Student Council for all their hard work this year.
